Vintage: the Horch 930 V BJ 1937
Drive It! tests a luxury convertible from the 1930s. When the Horch 930 V was launched in 1937, the German auto industry was in a serious crisis. With the government gearing up for war, the scarce resources available all went towards building up the military. It wasn’t the best time to be launching luxurious automobiles. The Horch 930 V nevertheless managed to sell pretty well. It boasted impressive stats: Eight cylinders, almost five meters long and weighing in at almost two tons. Over 2,000 units had been made by 1940. Most of them were the convertible variety - like the one we tested.
