The 91 exhibitors there include many German auto manufacturers, who are increasingly looking to the region as a market and a production site. Nearly 750,000 people attended the fair in 2010.Present it!: Chevrolet MalibuAlthough it’s been a success in the US for almost 50 years, the Chevrolet Malibu is only now celebrating its European debut. Chevrolet launched the Malibu in 1964, making it the longest-running mid-sized car in the world.Test it!: Audi A8 HybridThe A8 is one of Audi’s three hybrid models on the market right now. It features a 155 horsepower combustion engine. In all-electric mode, the Audi A8 hybrid can cover roughly three kilometers at a speed of 60 km/h. Top speed in electric mode is 100 km/h.Spot it!: The Husqvarna Terra and StradaHusqvarna Motorcycles has launched the TR 650 Strada and the TR 650 Terra: one-cylinder motorbikes that are sporty and fun to ride. They’re light-weights in their class, with good directional stability and plenty of power, making them suited for both on-road and off-road use.Vintage: MelkusWhen people think of cars made in the former East Germany, the Trabant and the Wartburg usually come to mind. Few people have ever heard of the Melkus RS1000, which was the only East German sports car manufactured in series production. 101 Melkus RS1000’s were built between 1969 and 1984.
