Flipps Selected as One of Red Herring’s ‘Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies’

San Francisco, CA (June 10, 2015) – Flipps, the easiest way to discover and project amazing entertainment onto a TV using only your smartphone, has been chosen as one of the Red Herring North America’s top 100 fastest growing companies. The mobile entertainment platform has been recognized by Red Herring as a leader in mobile and TV innovation.

“In 2015, selecting the top achievers was by no means a small feat,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “In fact, we had the toughest time in years because so many entrepreneurs had crossed significant milestones so early. But after much thought, rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed our list down from hundreds of candidates from across North America to the North America winners. We believe Flipps embodies the vision, drive and innovation that define a successful entrepreneurial venture. Flipps should be proud of its accomplishment, as the competition was very strong.”

Red Herring’s editorial staff evaluated companies on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technological innovation and intellectual property, DNA of the founders, business model, customer footprint and addressable market. In the past, Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Skype, Salesforce.com, YouTube, Palo Alto Networks and eBay would change the way we live and work.

“We’re honored to be chosen among such a strong group of innovative companies,” said Kosta Jordanov, Flipps CEO. “This recognition further fuels our strong drive to revolutionize the way people enjoy the TV viewing experience.”

Flipps to Stream Second of a Series of PPV Live Events on Connected TVs Worldwide

San Francisco, CA (May 11, 2015) – Flipps has teamed up with Professional Bull Riders (PBR) to stream the upcoming Built Ford Tough Ring of Honor: Unfinished Business, presented by BlueDEF, on Smart TVs and set top boxes worldwide.

On May 30th, the Flipps app for iOS and Android will air a three-hour live broadcast of three different PBR competitions beginning with coverage of the J.W. Hart PBR Challenge BlueDEF Velocity Tour event, featuring the best up-and-coming riders and the elite stars from the Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) competing alongside each other.

It also includes the Built Ford Tough Ring of Honor: Unfinished Business competition, a $160,000 winner-take-all challenge that will include eight PBR Ring of Honor members coming out of retirement solely for this momentous occasion: Chris Shivers, Justin McBride, Ross Coleman, Mike White, Michael Gaffney, Tater Porter, Cody Custer and J.W. Hart.

The broadcast will end with the World Champions Challenge showcasing the active PBR World Champions and PRCA Bull Riding Champions competing for a potential winner’s purse of $50,000.

Bull riding fans will now have the opportunity to stream all of the action live on TV with the Flipps mobile app and over 5,000 models of connected devices including Chromecast, Xbox, Samsung, Phillips, and Panasonic TVs and more. With the Flipps app for iOS and Android, viewers can stream all the action onto a big-screen TV directly without any setup, extra hardware or TV apps.

Flipps has thus far proven to be the ultimate global TV distribution platform for live event organizers ranging from sports to music. With traditional live stream distribution, organizers often face the challenge of making individual deals with carriers by region and usually cover only key markets. In addition to covering 200 countries with a single deal, Flipps also drives incremental traffic in key markets, providing a highly sought-after user profile and mobile user experience. Viewer transactions are processed via in-app purchase – a more seamless billing process than cable company interfaces. Additionally, Flipps provides value to publishers in the form of in-depth viewer analytics (aggregated and anonymous).

“PBR is the premiere bull riding organization in the world and we are honored to be able to elevate that content to new audiences through the Flipps platform, “ said Kosta Jordanov, Flipps CEO.

Earlier this year, Flipps partnered with Global Force Wrestling (GFW) to stream one of the largest events in professional wrestling, the New Japan Pro Wrestling Tokyo Dome show. The event was a global success, with orders topping out major cable providers despite initial technical issues due to load.

The May 30th three-hour PBR event special is now available for pre-purchase via the Flipps app. Find out more about how to order on www.flipps.com.

Flipps Signs New Winged Company Spokesman: The Flipps Fairy

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Sept. 8, 2014 — Flipps, the popular platform for streaming entertainment from a mobile device to the TV screen, has signed on the Flipps Fairy as new company spokesman—er—spokesfairy.

The Flipps Fairy stars in a new slate of videos showing how Flipps turns your smartphone into a magic wand of entertainment. The videos include a demonstration of the Flipps service along with three living room rules for experiencing the ultimate home entertainment experience. In a controversial move, Flipps has also decided to release a series of “Flipps Fairy: Unfiltered” vignettes capturing off-the-cuff commentary from the Flipps Fairy on topics ranging from John Stamos and mythical creatures to power tools and Internet porn. While the Flipps Fairy claims he was unaware that on-set cameras were rolling during the “Unfiltered” clips, he is contractually unable to prevent their premiere.

The Flipps Fairy had this to say “I love the Flipps service and how it enables people to discover and project movies, music videos and more onto a TV with just their phone. Though I’m a bit upset that my personal comments related to a recent visit with the Keebler elves were made public, I guess it was only a matter of time the public realized those wee-men are freebasing refined sugar in that tree house of theirs…more like a crack house with leaves, if you ask me.“

“Putting aside the ‘Unfiltered’ clips controversy, Flipps is thrilled to partner with the Flipps Fairy in promoting how the Flipps app delivers on-demand entertainment from a mobile device to any nearby TV without any additional hardware,” said Kosta Jordanov, Co-founder and CEO of Flipps. Jordanov added, “We think there’s great synergy between the Flipps Fairy’s inherit magical powers and the core Flipps mission of making TV magical. And it was certainly convenient that he accepted payment in unicorn eyelashes. It’s a win-win.”

Jordanov went on to share that this relationship is the fruit of nearly 2-years of tense talks with the Flipps Fairy. The key stumbling block was a prior contractual commitment the Flipps Fairy made with his cousin, the Tooth Fairy. That agreement obligated the Flipps Fairy to deliver on one thousand years of tooth extraction services. In a lucky twist, the Flipps Fairy was released from his dental collection duties after the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) cited the handling of childhood teeth to be a hazardous job, given the significant presence of salivary bacteria and errant caramel residue.

In addition to representing the mobile app, which has been downloaded more than 10 million times, the Flipps Fairy has also agreed to flap his wings with every subsequent download, releasing magic pixie dust into the air. Flipps lawyers have confirmed the pixie dust is non-carcinogenic, thought it may induce asthmatic fits of coughing.

Flipps and Vuguru Announce Direct-to-TV Distribution Deal

SAN MATEO, Calif., Jan. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Multi-screen streaming service, Flipps, is pleased to announce a distribution partnership with leading independent multi-platform studio, Vuguru. Two of Vuguru’s flagship digital series will soon be available for “Direct-to-TV” streaming via Flipps.

Vuguru has been an innovator in delivering quality storytelling to audiences through emerging technologies. These pioneering scripted series with millions of viewers will for the first time be available for streaming on Smart TV’s and gaming consoles via the Flipps platform.

Backed by Tim Draper, the founder of “viral marketing,” Flipps is available for iOS and Android devices as a mobile app that delivers over-the-top video to Smart TV’s over wireless Internet networks. Viewers will be able to stream the Vuguru series from the Flipps mobile app to any of their connected TVs. Flipps supported devices include internet-connected televisions by Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, LG, and Philips, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Apple TV.

“Bringing online original programming to the connected home is a natural extension of the Flipps brand and Vuguru is a leader in the space. We’re excited to be the first to bring on-demand Vuguru series to the TV screen – making them available and easily accessible to millions of viewers,” said CEO of Flipps, Kosta Jordanov.

Flipps, formerly iMediaShare, is the first device-agnostic video streaming service. Unlike many over-the-top streaming devices on the market, the Flipps mobile app doesn’t require an additional set-top box, TV dongle, or TV app to work. There’s no setup, as Flipps automatically discovers connected devices in the network, making video streaming virtually effortless.

“Prom Queen” is the global hit franchise following the lives of the students at Edward Adams High as they struggle to find love, popularity, and happiness in a place that is cursed with tragedy, obsession and jealousy. Produced by Big Fantastic (Control TV, Sorority Forever) and starring Katy Stoll, Sean Hankinson, David Loren and Laura Howard, the series takes viewers on a thrilling journey uncovering the history behind murders within the school walls that plague the characters.  “Back on Topps,” is a satirical behind-the-scenes look into one of the world’s most recognizable sports companies. When The Topps Company falls into new ownership, sport-loving twin brothers and heirs to the Topps fortune, Leyland and Leif Topps (Jason and Randy Sklar), must navigate the murky corporate waters of their new work environment and prove to their new boss they are valuable to the sports card world.
